Aquatic Program - Adaptive Swim Class

Aquatic Programs

Where movement, confidence, and a splash of joy come together!

Imagine a place where your child can build strength, confidence, and new skills, all while splashing, playing, and having fun in the water!

At Milestone Pediatric Therapy, we believe therapy can feel joyful, encouraging, and meaningful. Our aquatic programs use the unique therapeutic properties of the water to create a supportive environment where children can explore movement, try new things, and grow in ways that feel both fun and empowering.

Big Gains Start with Tiny Splashes

Our aquatic programs are where movement, play, and support come together.

Enhanced Mobility

In the water, your child feels like they’re floating on a cloud!

The water gently supports their body, making it easier to wiggle, stretch, and explore movements that might be tricky on land. Each splash and step helps build strength and freedom for activities both in and out of the pool.

Improved Strength + Endurance

Water turns exercise into play!

Every kick, reach, and paddle becomes a fun way to build strength and boost stamina. Whether it’s pushing a toy through the water or balancing on a pool noodle, your child is working hard without even realizing it—all while growing stronger for the adventures ahead.

Sensory Integration

The pool is like a sensory wonderland!

The warm water wraps your child in a big, cozy hug while the gentle splashes and bubbles provide just the right amount of sensory input. This calming, playful environment helps kids feel in control and ready to dive into learning and play with confidence.

Aquatic Therapy improves balance + coordination.

Balance + Coordination

The pool is the perfect place to practice movement in new and exciting ways!

Whether they’re climbing out of the pool, kicking through the water, or catching a floating toy, they’re building coordination, body awareness, and motor planning skills through movement that feels playful and fun.

Increased Confidence

There’s magic in the water that helps kids discover what they’re capable of!

Each small win—whether it’s floating, kicking, or reaching a toy—sparks a sense of pride. With every splash, they’ll grow more confident, excited to try new things, and ready to show the world just what they can do.

From An Empowered Parent

Finding the right fit for your child

Every child is different, and our aquatic programs are designed to meet them right where they are.

Aquatic Therapy

One-on-one sessions, goal focused support in the water.

Aquatic therapy sessions are provided by a licensed occupational or physical therapist and are designed around your child’s individual goals.

Your child will begin with an evaluation so we can better understand their needs and create a personalized plan. Therapy is typically offered in 8-week rotations, with sessions focused on building strength, mobility, coordination, and confidence through meaningful, play-based movement.

If you are planning to use insurance, an authorization may be required prior to starting services, and our team will help guide you through that process.

Mommy + Me – Swim Class

A gentle, supportive introduction to the water. Best for children ages 0-3 years olds.

Our Adaptive Mommy + Me Swim Class is designed to provide an inclusive and fun water experience for young children and their caregivers.

This class focuses on water safety, body awareness, sensory-rich play, and early developmental skill-building, all supported by our trained pediatric team.

This is not a traditional swim lesson, but rather a guided experience that helps children build comfort, confidence, and safe movement patterns in the water.

*Please note this is not a therapy session. A parent/caregiver is required to be in the water with their child during this class.

Adaptive Swim Team

A supportive, team based experience in the water. The Milestone Adaptive Swim Team is a recreational program for children ages 8-16 with physical, developmental, or cognitive disabilities.

This program provides a supportive, inclusive space where swimmers can build skills, confidence, and connections while having fun in the water.

Sessions focus on participation, teamwork, and continued growth, while still keeping the experience encouraging and flexible for each swimmer.

*Please note our swim team is currently paused. If you are interested in joining please text us to join our interest list.

Not sure which program is best for your child? You’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it on your own.
