- Your child isn’t babbling (e.g. bababa, dadada)
- Has only a few words
- Not imitating simple sounds, words
- Not imitating simple actions or gestures
- Not pointing to or identifying familiar objects (15 months)
- Not understanding what people say
- Using less than 25 words
- Not putting 2 words together
- Saying less than 50 words
- Not playing well with other children
- Not talking to other children
- Difficulty understanding what your child is saying (unintelligibility)
- Difficulty engaging with peers in pretend or imaginative play
- Demonstrates a “loss” of language or words
